Grand Knight’s Message – I would like to thank everyone for a successful Christmas season for the Knights and their families. We conducted ourselves in an honorable and respectful manner at all of our functions. My thanks to all of our membership.
Thought for the Month –Look for opportunities to make Jesus Christ live in your daily interactions with your fellow human beings.
Basketball Free Throw-The Basketball Free Throw will be on 1-19-08 at St. Anne’s Parish from 1:30 to 4:00.. Please call Ed Ortelli with any questions at 610-317-6349. We need about 5 more volunteers.
110th Anniversary Party- The 110th Anniversary Party is scheduled for April 5, 2008 at Monocacy Manor. Please save the date. More details will follow in future bulletins.
Membership/Degrees –We hope to have a third degree in March/April 2008. Members, get your recruiting hats on.
Dues for 2008 – All members will receive their dues letters for 2008. Please return with your check to our Financial Secretary, Al Fiore as soon as possible. Your membership is the lifeblood of the Knights, so please remit ASAP.
Attendance Award – Brother John Repasch, Jr. was drawn for the November attendance award and was not present. Join us at the January 21st meeting and you could win $30.00.
Knight Rider – Several knights are ready to pick up a brother knight to attend a meeting or other council event. If you’re unable or hesitant to drive at night, call Rick Scrak at 610-390-5638 or e-mail Rick at scrakman@msn.com to arrange a ride.
Council Web Site – Visit our web site at www.kofc313.org. All our scheduled events and newsletters for the 2007-2008 fraternal year will be available online.Rosary and Food Drive – We say the Rosary at 7:00 PM, prior to each general meeting. You may also wish to make a cash donation to Victory House. Jim Hogg can buy food at discounts. Pro-life – A pro-life Mass is held on the second Saturday of every month at Notre Dame Church at 8:00 AM. Following Mass, many say the Rosary at the abortion facility in Allentown. |
Change of Address – If you are moving or will be temporarily away, please notify our Council’s Financial Secretary, Al Fiore of your new address, at 610-866-0034 to keep records current and avoid unnecessary post office fees..
Miller Blood Center - Kindly identify any blood donations at the Miller Blood Bank with Trinity Council 313. Call 610-691-5850 for an appointment. Knights and their families are eligible to receive blood when justified.
Congratulations- The Knight of the Month award went to DGK Phil Comito for his service. The Family of the Month award went to Warden Vito Sabie Family. Thanks for all the good work.
Eucharistic Ministers for Brother Knights – If any Knight needs communion brought to him he should call me at 610-691-6303 to arrange this. Brother Knights who are Eucharistic ministers are available to bring communion to Knights in need.
Fraternal –Keep our sick in your prayers, including Leonard Verrastro, George and Dorothy Dyonda, Mrs. Gil Martin, Bob Banks, Vito Sabie’s brother-in-law and nephew, Deacon Bob Rogers, Pope Benedict, Deacon Richard Sewald, Hilda Johnson, Leonard Verrastro’s sister Catherine, Jim Faller’s sister Joan, Deacon Kelly’s wife Joanne, Phil Comito’s sister-in-law, Tom Michael’s wife, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Albarelli, Steve Gorbos’ friend Marna Miller and his niece Mary Grace Smith and his Uncle Hilary, Steve and John Pecka, Bob Donnegan, Brother Francis, John Scholloser and Kenneth Haas. Also, keep in your prayers the families of all our departed Brothers who died recently.
Ecumenical Soup Kitchen – Volunteers will be needed for our next stint at the soup kitchen on January 19, 2008 from 1 to 3 PM. We need 8 to 9 volunteers to serve about 230 people. Call Rick Scrak at 610-390-5638.
Council Newsletter Advertisers – Support our advertisers. Newsletter ads reach about 340 members and friends every month, and they are available online. See our advertisers for 2007 on the front page.
Call For Action- We would like to have all Knights give 2 hours more a year to our efforts in the next 12 months. If everyone could do this think of what we could accomplish this year. You’ll be glad you did.
