Annual Picnic at Grand Knights Message
Council 313 begins its 111th
fraternal year July. Lets us pray that we can continue, with good
hearts, to provide for those in need and, also maintain our brotherly spirit. Council Elections Our annual election for
officers took place at May’s general council meeting. The new slate appears
on the reverse side of this newsletter. Iron
Pigs Baseball Outing-Thursday, June 12, 2008. District Deputy John Philapavage will
reserve 50 tickets at $9.00 each for the game. call John (610)434-1580. This is AAA baseball and it’s really good. Insurance-Brother
Jim Kearney is handling District #32’s insurance matters while we are
awaiting a permanent field agent.
Please call District Deputy John Philapavage (610) 434-1580 with any
questions regarding this. Membership/Degrees –Members, get your recruiting hats on. On Sunday, June 1st there will
be a 4th Degree Exemplification at Mountain Laurel Resort in White
Haven. Please let Al Fiore know if you
are interested in going. Dues for 2008 – All members will receive
their dues letters for 2008. Please
return with your check to our Financial Secretary, Al Fiore as soon as
possible. Your membership is the
lifeblood of the Knights, so please remit ASAP. Attendance Award – The brother who was drawn at the May meeting for
the attendance award was absent. Join
us at the June 19th
meeting and you could win $55.00. Knight Rider – Several knights are ready to pick up a brother
knight to attend a meeting or other council event. If you’re unable or
hesitant to drive at night, call Rick Scrak at 610-390-5638 or e-mail Rick at

to arrange a ride.

Rosary and Change of Address – If you are moving or will be
temporarily away, please notify our Council’s Financial Secretary, Al Fiore
of your new address, at 610-866-0034 to keep records current and avoid
unnecessary post office fees.

all our departed Brothers and Sister M. Petronilla who died recently. Ecumenical Soup Kitchen – Volunteers will be needed for our next stint at
the soup kitchen on July 19, 2008 from
1 to 3 PM. We need 8 to 9 volunteers
to serve about 230 people. Call Rick
Scrak at 610-390-5638. Council Newsletter Advertisers – We have not received all of the expected payments
from our prior advertisers. If we do
not receive the payments we will open the spaces to new advertisers. This is a great way to support council. Council Picnic-We will have the Council Picnic on August 16th this
year. The picnic will be from Noon to
5 PM at Families In Need-We are making our
Families In Need program more flexible by allowing Council members to make
requests directly to the Families In Need committee members (Steve Gorbos, Ed
Ortelli and/or Jim Transue). We want
to be able to help individuals and families that need help without excessive
prerequisites. $4,000.00 is budgeted
for this each year. We limit donations
to a maximum of $250.00 Please call
any of the above individuals if you are aware of someone in need. PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS!
