Grand Knights Message-Our Holy Father Benedict has decreed this to be the year of the Apostle Paul. Let us follow St. Paul’s instructions (Romans 12:9-10) “Let love be sincere; hate what is evil, hold on to what is good; Love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor.”

 

Officers please note: the, installation of officers will take place in July which is one month earlier than originally anticipated. July is mid vacation time but please attend, if at all possible.

                               

Iron Pigs Baseball Outing-Thursday, June 12, 2008. Attendance was very good, the weather fine, and it was a most enjoyable outing for all who could make it.

 

Insurance-Brother Jim Kearney is handling District #32’s insurance matters while we are awaiting a permanent field agent.   Please call District Deputy John Philapavage (610) 434-1580 with any questions regarding this. 

 

Membership/Degrees –The following members of Council 313 received their 4th Degree on Sunday June 1 at White Haven: James Priga, James Connell, Thomas Yencho, Peter Guidon, Mark Sewell and Father Bernard Ezaki.  Congratulations, Sir Knights!

 

Knight of the Month GK Bob Pandaleon named Al Fiore Knight and Eric Carr and wife Family of the Month. Congratulations!

 

Citizenship Award  Council 313 makes annual awards of $200 to High  School students who have been recommended to us for having demonstrated outstanding citizenship. This year’s recipients were: Michael Rapp, Freedom H.S.; Kaitlin Warric, Liberty H.S.; Todd Suess, Notre Dame H.S. and Brittney Castro, BECA H.S. Congratulations to all!

 Attendance Award – The brother who was drawn at the June meeting for the attendance award was absent.   Join us at the June 17th   meeting .You could win $60.00.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Knight Rider – Several knights are ready to pick up a brother knight to attend a meeting or other council event.  If you’re unable or hesitant to drive at night, call Rick Scrak at 610-390-5638 or e-mail Rick at scrakman@msn.com to arrange a ride.

 

Rosary and Food Drive – We say the Rosary at 7:00 PM, prior to each general meeting.  You may also wish to make a cash donation to Victory House.  Jim Hogg can buy food at discounts.

 

Pro-life – A pro-life Mass is held on the second Saturday of every month at Notre Dame Church at 8:00 AM.  Following Mass, many say the Rosary at the abortion facility in Allentown.

 

Change of Address – If you are moving or will be temporarily away, please notify our Council’s Financial Secretary, Al Fiore of your new address, at 610-866-0034 to keep records current and avoid unnecessary post office fees.

Miller Blood Center - Kindly identify any blood donations at the Miller Blood Bank with Trinity Council 313.  Call 610-691-5850 for an appointment.  Knights and their families are eligible to receive blood when justified. 

 

Fraternal –Keep our sick and those in distress in your prayers, including  Leonard Verrastro’s  sister, Katherine and Len’s  daughter in law Roxanne,  Steve Pecka  and the Pecka family,

Steve Gorbos’ cousin, Father Ray Bucko and Steve’s daughter, Michelle, who is expecting and, also, Joe Petrillas wife. 

  

 Ecumenical Soup Kitchen – Volunteers will be needed for our next stint at the soup kitchen on July 19, 2008  from 1 to 3 PM.  We need 8 to 9 volunteers to serve about 230 people.  Call Rick Scrak at 610-390-5638. 

 

Council Newsletter Advertisers – We have not received all of the expected payments from our prior advertisers.  If we do not receive the payments we will open the spaces to new advertisers.  This is a great way to support council.

Council Picnic-We will have the Council Picnic on August 16th this year.  The picnic will be from Noon to 5 PM at Louise Moore Park. See insert in this newsletter for all the pertinent details.  We would like to see you and your families there.

 

Families In Need Council 313 continues to give strong support to our Families In Need   program. Members are to make requests directly to the Families In Need committee members (Steve Gorbos, Ed Ortelli,  Philip Comito and/or Jim Transue ).  We want to be able to help individuals and families that need help without excessive prerequisites.   We limit donations to a maximum of $250.00 per request.  Please call any of the above individuals if you are aware of someone in need.
