Grand Knight’s Message: You will notice in our list of events that recruitment drives are scheduled at St. Anne’s, Notre Dame and OLPH churches. Please note the date in your particular parish. Rarely, do men come to us asking about the Knights  - they need to be told about what it means to be a Knight and how Knights become very active members of their parish and community. Please help us deliver our message.

God bless you and your families.

Remember Sept. 11.   Join us beforehand at St. Anne’s at 7AM on Sept. 11 to commemorate the victims of the attack on that fateful day.

Insurance-Brother Jim Kearney is handling District #32’s insurance matters while we are awaiting a permanent field agent.   Please call District Deputy John Philapavage (610) 434-1580 with any questions regarding this.

COAL Sweepstakes Here is an opportunity to win some really great prizes, among them automobiles and tours to exotic places, as well as great things for your home! Importantly, you will help to fund State Council Scholarships.  Donations are only one dollar and a book of eight is only seven dollars.  These  sales are a key fund-raiser for your Council. We still need to sell more books to meet our sales target. Final date for sales is Oct. 13. Please hurry to get yours in !!

FOOTBALL EXTRAVAGANZA Our annual football extravaganza is now underway. This is a really important fundraiser for all of our Council activities including, most importantly, charity. Here is how it works – buy a ticket for only $10 and you are entered to win every week for ten weeks, so your cost is actually only one dollar a week. There will be ten winners every week based upon highest and lowest three team total scores. THIS IS FUN. DON’T BE LEFT OUT. BUY SEVERAL TICKETS AND UP YOUR ODDS!

August Picnic Our annual Council picnic was a big success. The food was great and thanks to all who brought a dish. The weather-absolutely perfect. Total attendance was 61 including 13 children. If you missed this year’s picnic put it on your calendar for next year – we’d like to see it even bigger.

Surprise Gift  At the picnic Bro. Mark Sewell introduced Susie, one of his four daughters, who presented the Council with a wonderful gift. A large oil painting of Christopher Columbus. We can display this painting at our Council meetings-a really nice reminder of  the Knights heritage.  Thank you, Susie, for your talent and your work, and most of all your thoughtfulness.

Roundtable Our Council has re-established the Roundtable, which “main purpose is to help the parish priest, however, necessary.”  From our point of view we hope to encourage more of our Knights to become active in their parishes and, at the same time, to make the parishes aware of the presence of the Knights. So far, in our initial meetings with Pastors, they have been very receptive. Bro. Mark Sewell is directing our efforts. More to come.

Attendance Award –Brother Robert Gonzalez, whose name was drawn at the August meeting for the attendance award, was not present. Come to the September Council meeting and have a chance to win $70.

Knight Rider – Several knights are ready to pick up a brother knight to attend a meeting or other council event.  If you’re unable or hesitant to drive at night, call Rick Scrak at 610-390-5638 or e-mail Rick at scrakman@msn.com to arrange a ride.

Families In Need Council 313 continues to give strong support to our Families In Need   program. Members are to make requests directly to the Families In Need committee members (Steve Gorbos, Ed Ortelli, Philip Comito and/or Jim Transue ).  We want to be able to help individuals and families that need help without excessive prerequisites.   We limit donations to a maximum of $250.00 per request.
