Grand Knight’s Message:
Let us begin a new fraternal year with many thanks to Brother Phil Comito PGK for all his hard work during his successful year as Grand Knight, highlighted by reinvigorating the Round Table program (with the help of Brother Mark Sewell) at our parishes, and by installing(with Brother Jim Transue) a solid budgeting process to issue our financial stability. Many thanks to all of you who took the time to complete and return the survey sent to you seeking your input and suggestions as to how we can improve as a council. A committee is reviewing and tabulating the results, and you will be able to read a summary of their report in the next newsletter. Our Football Extravaganza 2009 tickets have been mailed to all members. Please support us in our major fundraising project by purchasing (and/or helping to sell) tickets to enable us to continue our program of charitable giving. The next newsletter will contain a summary of your council’s works of charity during the fraternal year which ended June 30, 2009. As you all know Charity is the first principle and watchword of our Order, and it is the most important thing that we as a Council do. This newsletter contains the contact information for our current officers. Directors/chairmen for 2009-2010 are being appointed now, and their contact information will be listed in the next newsletter.
Monthly Meetings: Beginning this month we will change the format of our monthly meetings somewhat by inviting a guest speaker to talk to us about topics of interest starting at 7:30 PM and continuing for 15-20 minutes or so to be followed immediately thereafter by our regular monthly business meeting. There really is no good reason the business meeting portion should take more than an hour. After all Sunday Mass is far more important than our business meeting, and it manages to get everything done in an hour. It is our goal to have a guest speaker at every meeting unless we have other events scheduled for that night. We welcome your suggestions as to who you would like to have as a guest speaker. Please forward them to our Lecturer Len Verrastro at 610-691-5698.
Council Picnic: We will have the council Picnic on August 15th this year. The picnic will be from Noon to 5:00PM at Louise Moore Park. We would like to see you there. For questions or more information, please call Bro. Ed Ortelli at 610-317-6349.
Roundtable Update: Notre Dame – Knights parish breakfasts will resume in October.
St. Anne’s – New parishioner Welcoming Committee – Coffee & Donuts after masses to resume in the Fall.
The roundtables serve your parish and your community. Get involved! Contact Roundtable Chairman, Bro. Mark Sewell at (610)-442-8593.

K of C insurance As you know our Knights of Columbus Field Agent is our own Rick Scrak from our Council. Many of us may not be fully aware of all the benefits that are potentially available to us as Brother Knights, or may not be fully comfortable in discussing these issues with a stranger, even one who is professionally trained. Brother Rick is no stranger, he is one of us, a lifetime member of our Council and a past Grand Knight. And he is a professionally trained field agent. Give him a call at (610) 390-5638. C.O.A.L.
