GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE
Easily our most attended event of the year for Knights and their families and friends is our Communion Breakfast. Appropriately for Trinity Council our Communion Breakfast this year will be held on Trinity Sunday, May 30, 2010. We will attend 9AM mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3221 Santee Road, Bethlehem and then proceed to the Palace Restaurant 3250 Easton Ave, Bethlehem for the breakfast beginning approximately 10:30AM. The food is always excellent and no one has ever gone away hungry. At the breakfast we will, as always, present scholarship awards to sons/daughters of our Council 313 brothers who are graduating from high school this year. As an added feature this year our very own brother Deacon George Kelly has agreed to be our breakfast speaker. Please join us. Call Brother Len Verastro at 610-691-5698 to reserve your spot.
First Degree
Our next first degree exemplification will be June 17, 2010, at 7:30PM. Candidates arrive at 7PM. If you know of a candidate, call Bro. Al Fiore at 610-866-0034. The Knights of Columbus worldwide membership recently passed the 1.8 million mark. Tell a Catholic gentleman friend how much more good he can do for his church and his fellow man as part of this team.
Recent Events
It seems that the Council is always busy with something. Our annual Arc collection at area stores and parishes raised over $2,300. The Arc is the largest advocacy organization in the United States for citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. During Lent our brother knights helped man the kitchen at St. Anne’s first annual Friday night fish fry – by all accounts a successful debut for a new parish event. Fr. Mongiello was kind enough to send us a beautiful letter thanking us for all our help.
Graduating High School Seniors
All brother knights from Council 313 who have sons / daughters graduating from high school this year: take note. The Council makes a scholarship award each year to graduating high school seniors who are sons and daughters of our members. We believe we have all the names of all the eligible recipients this year, but if you know of someone who has not contacted us, please call Brother Al Fiore at 610-866-0034. We don’t want to miss anyone.
